About Wesley

Wesley Emblidge is a marketing specialist based in Brooklyn, New York.

Wesley graduated from Emerson College in 2017 with a degree in Media Studies.

During his time at Emerson, he worked as the Assistant Facilitator for the college’s Bright Lights Film Series, where he ran social media, programmed short films, and moderated the discussion for a screening of The Witch. He also spent time during college interning at the Brattle Theatre, the San Francisco Jewish Film Festival, and Ro*co Films.

After graduating, Wesley worked briefly as an Outreach Coordinator at Documentary Educational Resources, before taking a position at the Coolidge Corner Theatre as Development & Education Coordinator. In less than a year, he was promoted to Marketing & Education Coordinator, and began running all social media for the theatre. Later on, he was promoted to Marketing & Education Manager.

Along with creating content for and managing interactions on all social media platforms, Wesley oversaw the Coolidge website, did graphic design, photography, digital advertising, and more. He also administered the theatre’s education program, and during the COVID-19 pandemic, ran virtual events where he moderated conversations with speakers including Bilge Ebiri, Stephanie Zacharek, David Fear, Alissa Wilkinson, Sam Adams, Ty Burr, and more. Additionally, he produced live virtual events for the theatre with Werner Herzog, Willem Dafoe, Amy Seimetz, John Hodgman, and more.

Today, Wesley works for the releases team at MUBI as a Marketing Manager, working on MUBI’s theatrical marketing campaigns for films including Fallen Leaves, Passages, The Substance, and more. Previously, he was part of MUBI’s digital team, working on paid media campaigns for the global releases of films including Aftersun, Decision to Leave, The Worst Person in the World, and more.

Wesley also has worked with Independent Film Festival Boston since 2017, first as a Festival Operations Assistant, and then as Social Media Coordinator. He ran all the festival’s social media year-round, and oversaw a small team of volunteers during the festival week.

In 2019, he co-founded Boston’s first film trivia night Marquee Trivia with James Macon. Along with co-hosting the events, Wesley ran all the social media accounts.
